Vancouver, BC, Canada: In keeping with its commitment to playground safety, Klondike Kidstuff announced today that they attended the most recent ASTM F24 Committee meeting to develop safety standards for both Sculpted Foam Play Equipment and Aquatic Play Equipment. The meeting, held February 4 th and 5 th in Tampa, Florida, was very well attended by safety committee members.
During the session, Klondike's representative played an integral role in the working group responsible for refining the new draft standard for “Sculpted Foam Play Equipment”. The long-awaited standard is expected to be complete within a year, assuming all continues to progress smoothly.
Also in Tampa, Klondike's representative participated in the ongoing development of the “Interactive Aquatic Play Equipment” standard. Critiques by several thoughtful committee members prompted many qualitative changes to the draft standard and its scope.
“An integral part of Klondike's corporate culture is our commitment to advancing safety in children's play areas. We are proud of our continuous participation in developing these all important standards” – [Klondike spokesperson asked to comment on the company's participation at the ASTM gathering].
