Modusoft™ Play Systems Offer Creative Solution to Space and Budget Constraints
Pinehurst, NC, USA: Klondike Kidstuff’s patented Modusoft™ Play Systems, launched earlier this year, are proving a welcomed new offering to malls throughout North America that can’t seem to dedicate space to a permanent play area but know they need to be offering the amenity.
“Families represent the majority of our target market and, yes, we’ve wanted for years to be able to install a big themed area for kids but we just don’t have the room for one. We need our center court for our Christmas display,” says Sherhill Mall Marketing Director April Sora. “The soft play areas available all seemed so big and expensive! I can’t tell you how glad we were to find Klondike. The modular style of the Modusoft Play System they’re creating for us will allow us to move the play area anywhere we want. And we can put it in storage over Christmas. It’ll be perfect!”
Modusoft play areas are sold as “complete easy to install kits” that include everything a property needs to install a play area: walls, safety surfacing, play components, rules signage and easy to follow instructions. Interestingly, installation requires no tools, nuts or bolts so the play area created is totally mobile and can be moved to accommodate specialty retailers and holiday displays or to adjust traffic flow. Like the install, the dismantling or moving of a Modusoft area can be completed by two people in a matter of just a few hours.
Klondike currently has 3 pre-designed kits (Jungle, Outdoor and Ocean) in 3 sizes (480s/f, 340s/f and 196s/f) for customers to choose from, though the company confirms that custom designs are available upon request.
Coined “the economical soft foam play solution for properties with limited space”, Modusoft Play Systems enable virtually all retail centers to have play areas and enjoy the resulting increase in traffic and revenue. “They are scaled-down, portable versions of our large themed permanent play areas”, explains Klondike’s Sales and Marketing Director, Elissa Arkinstall. “Potential clients kept telling us that they didn’t have the space or the budget to install a play area but really wished they could. So we developed the Modusoft system to service this unmet demand”. If the number of Modusoft orders the company has already received for 2006 is any indication, then the market seems to have taken a great liking to the concept.
Klondike is planning another major product line extension, to be revealed sometime in the coming months.
